Great food. Love the BBQ.
Catfish was thin and dry and chewy nothing but breading nothing to write home about the Cabbage wasn't that good the beans were okay but when I ask for some hot sauce after I sit down with my fish she told me it would be $0.50 you have to pay for hot sauce and all I have is a debit card and after spending $15 she would not give me any hot sauce because she would not run the debit card for just $0.50 so I asked her could I just please have some I didn't want to eat my fish without it and she told me know I will never go back and if I was you I would stay away
Very disappointing. Apparently the pulled beef on the menu hasn't been available in a few years, which tells me something has changed here. My chicken was delicious, but the coleslaw and cabbage were not even close to fresh. The cornbread was also old, and tasted horrible, too. Beyond the food, this has to be one of the dirtiest places I've ever eaten. The tables and the condiments were sticky - and they had obviously been that way for a while. I love finding local spots to eat, but this was a great disappointment. I suggest everyone take a pass here.
All the food was fabulous ! The place was clean and well put together and the staff very friendly. But Mannnn..... The Sauce ! I had to buy a gallon and take home some "Smack Your Momma Sauce " !!!
My husband and I stopped by, on a rainy afternoon, for lunch. The lunch and service were great. We were driving from Southern California to East Tennessee, so we climbed back in the car and drove about 2 more hours - that's when I noticed that my wallet was missing. I called McKenzie's and the lady who helped us had just found my wallet in the parking lot. She'd just been trying to find a way to contact me. This Christmas angel sent my wallet to me so we didn't have to go back and get it! Honesty and great food. Thank you SO much!
