After having a bad experience at another clinic in town, we moved our business over to University Parkway Animal Hospital. The difference is astounding. We've been very happy with the quality of care and the customer service.
I will never return!
There is a girl on the desk staff there who is always disgruntled and makes you feel like you don't take good care of your animals.
He quoted me one price and I came back to pick up my pet and the price had increased $80! Total bill was well over $230 for a routine problem. I was actually told by the vet that he'd given my animal over-the-counter medication (which I could have purchased for under $10.00). He said my animal didn't need fluids, then upon return I had a charge for fluids added to my bill. My pet did not need this as upon drop off, I'd told him she was drinking water and eating fine. Many additional charges were like this.
This vet is overpriced as he will nickel and dime you.
We picked up a puppy and brought him to Dr. Lifsey simply because he was closer than any other office. We were extremely pleased with the quality of care, the lay out of the office, and the staff.
As I see it, he should have started with that option and not charged me for unnecessary tests. I don't think he has bad intentions for the animals, but it seems he has no concept of the working class and budgets.

He's just the best all around. I used to work for a Vet. When I moved to Jackson we went to his Father who was also a Vet. It was there that Dr. Lifsey Jr. started practice. We've taken in many rescue/stray dogs and feral/stray cats and have tried half a dozen Vets over the last 23 years because they were so much closer, less expensive etc. but we always went back to Dr. Ben. He knows his stuff, he remembers your animals, and whatever more you might pay is worth his knowledge, treatment, and compassion for his clients.
