Go here when I'm in town for business in the evenings if something is playing I really want to see. It is fine and could be updated or a little cleaner, but all in all a good theatre. I have never seen more than 3 other people in the same movie as me during the week in evenings.
The only reason I give this place one star is because it wasn't crowded and well I guess I feel generous. I have never, ever been in a more run down theatre and I have been in some doozies. The seats have gaping holes in them, the arm rests are chewed up or gone in many cases, there is an inch of dust on the speakers and emergency lights and it is generally just disheveled. I am visiting her and I feel really bad for the people of Jackson that is the highest rated theatre in town. This place seems to be hanging on by a thread. Popcorn was a salt lick and I will be swole up like a tick for 24 hours. Hard to believe their is anything like this that can be in business.
Got into theater as the credits were finishing from the previous showing. It has not been cleaned yet. Still had not been cleaned when the movie started (or ended for that matter) movie ended at 5 after midnight, walked out to a completely empty lobby. No employees (or human body of any kind) to be found. As if we had just been forgotten...
Even with the low score I will probably go back for other matinee showings, but I won't be bringing my wife or friends along.
The owner is a jerk who stopped caring years ago, and knows he doesn't have any real competition so almost no effort goes into making this place even remotely up to par. Overpriced concessions and horrible hygiene.
Went to the noon matinee today to watch Blade Runner. I was a little hesitant because of all the bad reviews about the place being dirty. Well they weren't wrong.
To be fair, I have been in a lot worse places and had intended to give them a 3, but then I saw the game room with the big neon sign and not a single game in the room. A theater with an empty game room is sad.
The first show of the day and there more than a seats with popcorn all over them. The tops of the speakers look like they haven't been cleaned in a year or more, and the screen was dirty enough in spots to be a real distraction at times.
