3 years later find out that I have a tennis ball size tumor in my brain that was connected to a severe tumor on my ear nerve that was causing the ringing. Thankfully a wonderful ENT surgeon at Vanderbilt was able to get most out without me losing my hearing or ability to move my face. When I told the ENTs at Vandy the story, they were shocked that a doctor could just write off my problem and miss a tumor that had been growing since 4 years before the tinnitus even started. Thankfully, I still have almost perfect hearing despite my ear nerve almost being destroyed
I got irritated by tinnitus coming up in my left ear over a weekend. My regular doctor sent me to West Tennessee ENT Clinic, big mistake. Dr. Wainscott said since my hearing was perfect it couldn't be anything that he could fix.
Took my 8 year old daughter in for nosebleeds. It was determined that cauterization would help her. He explained to her what he'd do. Tears started rolling and she said, "Mommy I'm scared." Just as I would think any little girl would be. He looked her straight in the face and said, "look I'm not gonna be able to do anything if you continue on with the theatrics and dramatics. And your other option is being put to sleep and having surgery." Needless to say, we vamped outta there. I didn't expect him to be super kid friendly but what a jerk! He's lucky the appointment didn't end with him having the bloody nose! Won't ever be back.
