The sushi, seaweed salad, and miso that I had was pretty good, however the meal would have been more enjoyable if their pickled ginger was of better quality. The ginger served with my sushi was unnaturally pink in color, indicating an artificial color or dye had been added. The ginger also had the flavor aspartame. Good ginger adds so much to my sushi eating experience. I was also unhappy to learn that they did not tamari. That being said, I would return for the seaweed salad, but pass on the sushi.
One of my favorite sushi places in the U.S. Service is occasionally slow, but always worth the wait.
The staff and Manager was helpful. I am just learning about Japanese food. They took the time to enlighten me on the different types of cooked sushi rolls.

Best Sushi in Jackson! Great food, great service. I LOVE the Fried rice, Joyce roll, Shrimp tempura, and udon noddles there the most! They also have a good Korean dish. If you like Korean food, try the bulgogi dish. It's delicious! They have every kind of raw sushi you can imagine. But if you are like me and don't really care too much for the raw sushi dishes but you like salty fish then you will enjoyed the Saba. I didn't think I would enjoy raw salted fish but I loved it! They also have a bar in the back of the restaurant. I always eat too much because it's so good. I think anyone that likes great sushi or food in general will enjoy eating at Sakura.
