Everyone who I met here --from the receptionist to the nurse to the phlebotomist-- was very nice and down to earth. there are many negative reviews that are uncalled for. People are mostly angry because they didn't follow the rules or weren't in good health to donate plasma. THAT IS NOT THE BUSINESS' FAULT!!!! It was very quick for me I only weigh 120lbs but they are thorough. They are ALL trained well, I know because I asked a lot of questions. The nurse made me feel very comfortable as she did my physical exam even though I am usually anxious. My phlebotomist was Julie P. She constantly checked on me an others in her section, was very fun and cool, and she knew what she was doing. I will definitely be coming back.
I wasted 45 minutes there today. First, I stood up front for 5 minutes, without being acknowledged, while 2 employees stood there and gossiped. Waited 20 minutes in the lobby. Finally got called back to "door number 4", where my picture and thumbprint was taken. I was asked umpteen questions, including if I'm diabetic, which is fine. Then, the very last thing they did was ask me what meds I was taking. When I said gabapentin for an irritated nerve, they said they needed a note from my doctor for that drug, stating what I'm taking it for. I called the corporate office and told them the procedure should be changed to nip that in the bud up front. They didn't seem to appreciate it. A quick look at your med list from the jump would help. One of the women who had time to gossip could be doing that. I'm a dialysis nurse. I'm off right now for an injury, but I appreciate what they do because my patients and my own husband have had to have plasma products. I just don't appreciate wasting my time when it could have been avoided. Now, I might not go back. I doubt they care.
Drove over an hour with some friends so they could donate. Couldn't stay there because I had my 3 month old child with me, which I didn't know before I went. The ladies at the desk were extremely rude and insisted on talking down to me.
They are not child friendly at all. The Lady who spoke to me was quite rude and had an attitude. Didnt offer any sort of information, knowing I had never been there before. Her main concern was me leaving because I had my child with me. I may give them one more opportunity since they are the only place I know of in Jackson to donate plasma and I'm AB+
My friends and I have tried donating plasma multiple times and always get turned away for varied reasons; that's fine, I know that they have rules they have to comply with. The problem is that they don't communicate. For instance, my friend got turned away a few times (low BP and things like that). As it turns out, if you get turned away three times, you have to have a doctor's note to try to donate plasma again. He wasn't told that the third time he tried to donate, and wasted time and gas going to donate plasma. Stuff like that happens all the time here, and I think it's because their employees either don't know the policies, or they don't communicate to each other. I'll definitely never bother again.
