Dr. Brooks is awesome!
I have lived in Tennessee for a little over a year now and have had probably no good experiences between the va facility in Memphis and the clinic in Jackson. Something needs to be done about the prehistoric failing VA system. I am so fed up with not being able to get things done/appointments/anything. Nothing can be simple or easy. I've been trying to get an official titer for hep B for my nursing degree for weeks now and it seems like no one even knows what a titer Is? I have called four times to recieve my titer and now I dont even recieve a return call. Between this and rudeness of those eho answer the phone im fed up with it. Its time to put people who care for veternas in charge. I changed from the Memphis VA as I am a full time student and cannot make the drive whenever I please so I decided to switch to Jackson which is somehow harder to get things done. The amount of care for the veterans at the VA system in Tennessee is atrocious. I have even resorted to attempt to get Medicaid not just for reasons like the titer, but because I am always in pain and cannot find answers with the VA. I am not eligible for Tennessee healthcare being a full time student with no job and no kids. I have exhausted all options but patient advocate because I'm sure it's just another smokescreen for the VA to do nothing. My last resort is to wrote higher and I have no problem doing so. The Tennessee VA healthcare system is a huge problem that needs to be fixed. Overall I am very unpleased with my experience here. It's a titer it's not rocket science.
Second, on a negative note...One of the receptionists that answers the phones leaves little to be desired. No matter what you are calling for or about, she is always, rude, abrupt, abrasive and extremely uncaring which are not qualities we as veterans who have served their country look for or deserve. My motto has and always will be: "Put yourself in my place"...how would SHE want to be treated? It's actually so bad that some patients have complained to about her lack of bedside manner while I am at work!
I would like to think this will be handled in a professional matter, if not I will go up the chain of command until there is resolve on this issue.
My last note: Please reprimand this individual accordingly so that she may understand fully that she is NOT friendly and has NO business in the health care field or any customer service job. I personally know people who far exceed and meet the requirements of working in a medical office and would be more suitable for the position.
First, a positive note..My husband and I are both veterans and I can say overall, for a satellite clinic with limited services, it's alright and our providers are wonderful.
This clinic is top notched. The building expansion is wonderful and the staff is efficient. The problem is the veterans themselves. I have witnessed an abundance of rudeness that is unnecessary. I will continue to make this my first choice for health care.
Receptionist are rude and never accepting new patients they want you to go over an hour away even though you where a preexisting patient
