The church is so beautiful! Haven't been here for a worship service, only for a wedding. The church's wedding coordinator has a sweet spirit, really enjoyed working with her.
The church is a great place to worship
Before joining Englewood over 7 years ago, I visited several churches in the Jackson & Gibson county area. My search included primarily non denominational & Baptist churches with many good congregations found. The thing that "sealed the deal" for me was the large church corporate worship with a diverse congregation that still had the needed close relationships you can build in the many small groups. Again, it took visiting several small groups (or Sunday school classes as some may know them) before finding the right fit which made the wait worthwhile.
Additionally, even though this church has a large campus and nice buildings it is unapologetically mission minded. There are multiple opportunities to reach out and serve others in the Jackson area as well as mission trips in and out of the country. Although coming together for corporate worship is a vital part of the Christian life, Jesus didn't go out all the time saying, "Y'all come to church". He came to the people, met their needs/ministered to them and the natural result was them coming together with other believers. I have seen Englewood under the leadership of 3 pastors and it still has maintained this "reaching out" as a Biblical priority.
The members here helped me through a difficult time in my life as I was struggling with my faith.. I bring my daughter to the children's program as well. She has improved with socializing and is learning bible verses and stories.. I see the mission groups out in the less fortunate neighborhoods which really persuaded me to believe that this church is authentic and genuine.. Its a non judgemental place to worship and I have never been hassled or had any pushy experiences here..
Pastor Jordan and his members are frontrunners for making an impact in the community and are leading by example of what discipleship is truly about..
Doesn't matter if your just passing through west tennessee, looking for a place to worship or if you are a long time member you are welcomed.
